In summary 220,000 tons p.a. of recycling capacity for aluminium dross and scrap is now “ready for production” in China.

The recycling market in China is growing. Aluminum should be recovered efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. On September 12th, 2020 the first casting from our latest KTO20 was successfully completed. Now a total of 6 x KTO20 have been supplied and installed by the joint venture Bobby & Bartz (Shanghai) Mechanical Equipment Co., Ltd. 

The high availability of the furnace per year (98%), the high throughput per day (120t) and the low energy consumption per melted ton of material (NG 27Nm³, O₂ 45 Nm³) are decisive for inquiries regarding our units. All key components of the systems are manufactured in Germany and delivered to China from Europe. For example, the refractory of the first KTO20 delivered in 2016, will not be changed until the end of this year 2020 – so after 4 years of continuous operation.

The latest KTO20, which has now been put into operation, is operated with processed coke-oven-gas (calorific value 4.75 kWh/Nm³) due to increased demand from our customers in China.

The new environmental orientation and stricter legislation in China will have a positive impact on the recycling market in the next time.
