Crucible tilting device

When delivered, the aluminium transport containers are lifted directly from the lorry using a hall crane and a lifting beam, and placed into the foot mounts on the tilting device. Hydraulic locking pins fix the container feet securely in place on the tilting frame. The locking procedure is monitored by two limit switches. It is not necessary to use any other on-site transport vehicles for this process.

The tilting movement is enabled by two large hydraulic cylinders powered by a built-in hydraulic unit. A pivoting channel is built onto the fixed frame directly under the pouring spout of the container, and this enables the liquid aluminium to be poured into any available transport crucibles. The tilting speed can be adjusted by means of throttles. The constant pouring height and smooth, continuous movement ensure that the transport container can be emptied evenly and safely.

As an optional extra, the system can also be fitted with a wired remote control that allows the operator to perfectly monitor the transfer of the melt into the internal transfer crucibles.


Rail-mounted crucible tilting device

This mobile tilting device can be used to transport the filled road transport container (with a capacity of 5-6 tonnes of liquid aluminium and a total weight of 10 tonnes) from the loading and unloading point to the removal point via a system of rails. A fixed casting channel is installed at the removal point

The tilting station is controlled via a control/switch cabinet installed close to the removal point. At the loading and unloading point outside the production hall, the transport container is transferred into the mobile tilting station using a gantry crane and locked in place by two hydraulic cylinders. A hydraulic unit is built into the tilting device, with electricity supplied via a cable carrier that runs into the side of the device.

The transport container can then be transferred together with the tilting device to the holding and removal point, via a system of rails. 


Crucible tilting device with combined heating unit

This tilting device is a system that is capable of hydraulically lifting road transport crucibles and containers with medium covers (clear opening with a diameter of at least 370mm), a capacity of 5/6 tonnes of liquid aluminium and a total weight of 10 tonnes in order to empty them. 

The corresponding immersion element or burner-based heating system serves to heat or maintain the temperature of the melt prior to the metal being removed. Both parts of the system are operated via a control/switch cabinet attached to the base frame of the tilting device.

The container is lifted into place by a hall crane and secured against falling out with the help of hydraulic locking pins attached to the feet of the container. The tilting process is also enabled by two hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic unit is built into the tilting device. The pivoting arm with lifting device for the burner or immersion tube is screwed onto the frame of the tilting device by its baseplate.

The burner attachment is pivoted onto the open dome cover of the container via a hydraulic folding mechanism. Flexible braided steel supply lines enable the container emptying function and the melt heating function to be operated simultaneously.
